The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Architecture and the Department of Architecture Design and Technology are proud to announce the launch of the 4th International Conference in Architecture and Transparency to be held in Thessaloniki (ICTA2016), Greece from 02 to 04 November 2016.

ICTA 2016 will explore the contemporary responds of architecture research and practice to the increasing heterogeneity behind the interaction of transparency with the abstract and the physical. We welcome papers, posters, workshops and doctoral colloquium submissions from any field of architecture design or other creative subjects that focus on theoretical or practical investigations of revealing the complexity behind the material and immaterial variations of transparency (e.g., trans-disciplinary applications, structures, building elements and their luminosity, opacity etc.), on the conceptual relations and methodological challenges of its origin and impact (e.g., as mediated mechanism, as disrupting presence or precondition for simultaneous perceptions), and on trans-disciplinary examples and implementations of its persuasive effects in design innovations.
