This large crater is the most magnificent of the finds from a
   late classical burial ground on the Derveni site outside Thessaloniki.
   With outstanding craftsmanship, the superb bronzesmith has portayed
   Dionysous and Ariadne in the centre sitting on the rocks and
   surrounded by maenads and satyrs in an ecstatic dance.
